Hi! I'm Phil (Jay)

Hello to all! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and welcome everyone to our blog. My name is Phil “Jay” Orzeck. You’ll probably see both names used throughout the blog, but just know that they’re both me. I am 36 years old and am currently in my 15th year serving in the United States Army. I am married to Traci, whom I believe you’ve already been introduced to, and together we have five boys. They are everything to me and the reason I keep on doing what I do in life.  So now to get into the lesser known (or in some cases, well known) facts about myself. - I am pretty tall (6’7) - I am covered in tattoos (over 20 separate sessions) - I’ve had 10 piercings (and don’t wear any anymore) - I am an obsessive Professional Wrestling fan (WWE, NXT, AEW) - I ran a Backyard Wrestling federation for over 10 years - I am an artist (painting, sketching, tattoos) - I am left handed (but shoot a basketball right-handed) - I love comic books (Spawn, X-Men, Deadpool,

February is here!

Hey everyone!     It’s been two-ish weeks since my last post. Here is what’s happening with me. I quit working out. I’ve been stressed and while working out is a great stress relief, it was what had to be cut because I was getting angry when the kids would disrupt or prevent me from being able to do it. Emotional stress has been running rampant and so it’s triggered some of my binge eating habits to come back but I’m working on those still. Binge eating carrots is still binge eating lol! While they’re far less calories than say M&Ms or chips, it’s still enabling the habits I’m trying to break. My weight has fluctuated a lot. I got down to 171.6lbs at one point but went up to almost 174lbs again during this time.  I am happy to report that this morning I weighed in at 171.0lbs and am working to drop the last 6lbs by the end of February and then I am going to focus on just changing our lifestyle. We’re going to slowly do more Paleo style eating and I am going to try to focus on maint

Week 1 Done, On to Week 2!

Hey y'all!  Week one of PiYo is DONE! I did skip most of Align because I was just ready to jump in. In hindsight, I maybe should have done Align because after the first 3 days, I was SORE. But it is what it is. I pushed through! I even did most of the routines without modifiers. The things I will probably (maybe?) always modify are push-ups and burpees. I'm too old and out of shape to be jumping up and down into a burpee. And let's be real, I would probably pee myself. HA! (Pelvic Floor Therapy is on my list of things to talk to my PCP about). Anyway, Here are my week 1 measurements, weigh in, and photos! Weight: 173.8lbs Neck: 14.5" (+0.5) Chest: 39.5" (-0.5") Waist: 34.5" (-0.5") Hips: 40" (-0.5") Bicep: 11.5" (0) Thigh: 23" Calf: 13.75" (-0.25") LBS Lost: -1.6 Total inches lost: -1.25 I wasn’t going to show these (below) but I think the progress speaks for itself. I've noticed so

PiYo Days 1 & 2

Hey y’all! Accountability is so important! How have y’all been doing?! What was your goals? Did you start anything for the new year? I started PiYo on Monday. I began with day one but decided to do day 2 as well. So Monday I did Align & Define Lower Body and yesterday, I did Define Upper Body. I didn’t expect to be sore but maaaaan, I’m more sore than I imagined. Not so sore that I can’t continue but I definitely can tell I took a few weeks off for the holidays and vacation.  I’ve started a clean eating meal plan while also trying to slowly use up all the non-clean food items in the house. Once it’s gone, we won’t be buying anymore!  I am slowly back to losing weight and making sure I’m healthier. I’m down 3.4lbs since right before Christmas. I want to get a multivitamin. For now I’m using SmartyPants prenatals but once those run out, I’m open to suggestions! Leave a comment below with a vitamin recommendation please! I would love for it to be as natural and non-synthet

Measurements & Before

Before I even begin the program again, I wanna post my before photos and measurements so I have them. These were all taken the morning of January 12th.  Weight: 175.2 lbs Neck: 14” Chest: 40” Waist: 35” Hips: 40.5” Bicep: 11.5” Thigh: 23” Calf: 14” Some personal goals of mine would be to reduce the midsection and fupa, but I know those will forever be a “problem” area since I’ve had 5 children. Honestly, being able to wear pants without any muffin top would be phenomenal! I would love to tone my arms, chest, shoulders, butt and thighs. Speaking of butt, where did mine go?! Why is it when you lose weight, you lose it in the places you don’t wanna lose?! 😂😂 So my butt needs some muscle so it comes back at least a little bit.  Today is day one of PiYo Strength! Wish me luck!

Traci's 2020 Nitty Gritty

Major Accountability Post: As I continue on my health journey, I’m slowly giving up on the “weight loss” mentality and the social standards and pressures that come with it. I have lost almost 60lbs since I gave birth on May 12th and that’s impressive! I’m so proud of my ability to focus and do something I’ve wanted for a long time! But I’m disappointed in some of the choices I’ve made along the way. Fat free, sugar free, and low calorie foods that are highly processed were fall backs. Diet or zero sodas were a treat but still had more often than not. My goal has been and always will be to be a healthier me. While I know that many of us have different versions of what’s healthy, my version has altered a lot lately. My personal healthy is less processed foods and more real foods. Not strictly Whole30 or Paleo or Keto or any diet plan. Just plain old real food. Less junk. Less added sugar. More homemade foods. My focus is 80% on plan, 20% flexibility. This has been a term used by

Hey! I'm Traci!

Hey y'all! I'm Traci! Here is the typical bio on me.  I am 36 years old and the  wife to an amazing man, Phil. You'll meet him when he does his intro post and video! He made my awesome video. Thanks baby!!  I am, also, the mama to 5 growing boys. Yup, FIVE! They range from an almost teenager to infant.  This blog will be our space to document our journeys from this point forward.  Here's a little about what I've been through so far. The video is a quick snippet of what I've done so far. I truly began this journey when my last baby was born 8 months ago, TODAY! I am down almost 60lbs and now am focusing on my mental and physical health! My next post will outline my plans for 2020! I can't wait to share my journey with you all!
